MT. PLEASANT — Student artwork is the feature for the January and February art display in the Arts IMPACT mini gallery in the Mount Pleasant public library.
Students of Annie Guldberg’s art studio in Mount Pleasant are featured in the current display.
The theme for the show is “Nature” with each student being challenged to think outside the box to create a piece that is unique and true to their own style.
Students used a 14” x 18” canvas for the project which is the largest piece many of the students have created. A wide range of students participated from age 6 to adult. Twenty four works by the student artists make up this current show.
Some students have been at work on their project since July. As part of the creative process, each student created a thumbnail mock-up and explored their idea with concept sketches before beginning their piece.
Local artist Annie Guldberg is the instructor for all the students. Guldberg noted that, “Working one on one allows each student to grow at their own pace and explore subjects and techniques they are interested in and passionate about learning.
Guldberg hopes to “create an environment that encourages each person to love creating and to enjoy the process of making art.”
The public is invited to the free gallery open during regular library hours throughout January and February.
Mount Pleasant Arts IMPACT sponsors and promotes the gallery as an effort to encourage the arts in the Henry County area.
