Board of supervisors reject truck storage building bids

MT. PLEASANT—The Henry County Board of Supervisors rejected all bids for the Roads Department’s Truck Storage Building project, last week.

County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss and the county supervisors opened bids for the project.

“Obviously it is a lot higher than we anticipated,” Hotchkiss said of the bids.

Supervisor Chad White moved and Supervisor Marc Lindeen seconded a motion to reject all bids for the project and the motion carried with three ayes.

“I have met with our consultants who reviewed the bids and they have determined ways that we can change items on the plans and restructure building to allow us to rebid the project late winter or early spring for a lower price,” Hotchkiss said. .

As alternative plans become more solidified, Hotchkiss will provide additional information on the project.
