MT. PLEASANT — Despite the announced Community Days at Iowa Wesleyan University campus coming to an end, the library will open again for a couple bonus days.
After hearing from the public that they’d like more time to comb through books at the Chadwick Library, the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce announced bonus days will take place Nov. 3 from 4-8 p.m. and Nov. 4 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., but will be a little different from other days.
Previously, these community days have offered an opportunity for the public to scavenge through the former university buildings and take whatever they pleased, as long as it wasn’t attached to the building.
These rules applied when the committee overseeing these community days hosted the last one Oct. 19 from 3-8 p.m.
For the bonus days, however, only books will be available for the taking.
Books retrieved from the bonus community days, however, will remain free-of-charge.
“This is a first come, first served event,” the Chamber announced. “No holding of books. Small wagons are permitted to help carry BOOKS.”
