Boys Roundup: Demons roll continues, Tiger win OT thriller

Washington 75, Oskaloosa 63
Washington continues to prove why they’re one of the top teams in class 3A. Tuesday night, they picked up their fifth straight win in a victory over Oskaloosa.
The Demons outscored the Indians in every quarter, but the margin was never more than five points. Washington won the quarters, 23-20, 11-8, 20-15 and 21-20.
Washington will be back in action on Friday, as they will play host to Mt. Pleasant.
New London 50, West Burlington 47 (OT)
New London survived an overtime thriller against West Burlington to stay undefeated Tuesday.
The Tiger’s Blaise Porter made his long awaited return after missing out on the first three games due to an injury.
New London led 22-19 after two quarters, before West Burlington used a 20-8 third quarter to take a 39-30 lead heading into the fourth.
New London tied the game with a 13-3 fourth quarter and finished overtime outscoring the Falcons 7-5.
Porter scored 17 points and Kade Benjamin added 14 points with nine rebounds.
New London, now 4-0, will face off with Danville, 6-0, on Friday.
Winfield-Mount Union 37, Mediapolis 23
The Wolves continue to keep their name in the conversation as one of the top teams in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.
Winfield outlasted a tough Mediapolis team that had been rolling until they ran into the Wolves.
At the half, Winfield held a 14-12 lead. The Wolves then finished with a second half burst, outscoring the Bulldogs 23-11.
Carter Loyd led the Wolves with a game high 13 points. Cam Buffington finished with 10 and Abram Edwards added six.
Winfield is now 5-0 on the season.
Keota 69, English Valleys 39
Sawyer Stout and Evan Vittetoe combined for 45 points, leading the Eagles to a win over the Bears.
Stout finished with 24 points and Vittetoe ended with 21 points, and 15 rebounds.
Keota began the game with a 20-8 first quarter and never let off the gas, outscoring English Valleys 49-31over the next three quarters.
Keota improves to 5-3 on the season.
Pekin 57, Columbus 22
The Panthers held the Wildcats to under 10 points in all four quarters in the win.
Columbus struggled to get going on the offensive end.
The Panthers outscored the Wildcats 15-4, 16-5, 14-5 and 12-8.
Grant Watson led the Wildcats in scoring with five points. Yahir Ayala and Oscar Alcala both chipped in three.
Pekin, 2-4, will play host to Hillcrest Academy, 4-1, on Friday.
Columbus, 1-4, will travel to Highland, 0-5.
Highland v. Louisa-Muscatine
The game between Highland and Louisa-Muscatine was postponed.
