MT. PLEASANT — After 24 years, a new sign illuminates the Mt. Pleasant Community High School’s main entrance.
Just this past week Sherwood Company installed the 84 inches by 69.5 inches tall illuminated “MP” logo on the building after months of conversation about the project.
According to Mt. Pleasant Community School District Superintendent John Henriksen, the total cost for this project came in around $5,700.
Back in June Mt. Pleasant High School Principal spoke with the school board about the options under consideration for new signage for the high school.
“I've been working with a couple of different companies just to see what something like this might cost. Both illuminated, non-illuminated,” Wilson said. “In talking with both companies, they said that illuminated is the best way to go in a situation like this because it's not that much more to make that happen.”
According to Wilson, the intent of adding the new sign to the building is “ … just to update the school and bring some more vibrance to it.”
