MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Sheriff’s Office returned to Highway 218 for another vehicle collision Saturday, Nov. 3 after receiving a report of a vehicle swerving.
At approximately 6:25 a.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the vehicle swerving that then went into the median near mile marker 48 on Highway 218.
An investigation determined a 2022 Ford Bronco driven by Travis Hoots, 46 of Quincy, Illinois, was south bound on Highway 218 and left the roadway. The vehicle entered the median and struck a culvert causing the air bags to deploy.
The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6000 and no injuries were reported. Hoots was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle.
