MT. PLEASANT — Main Street Mt. Pleasant is excited to get spooky season underway beginning this weekend.
New this year, Main Street will host Broomsitcks and Brews throughout downtown Mt. Pleasant Friday, Oct. 11 from 5-8 p.m. Main Street Director Lisa Oetken encourages everyone to come in costume for this night out in downtown Mt. Pleasant as the evening will include a costume contest with prizes for best individual and best group costumes. The best dressed could win tickets to the Thrashers House of Terror which opens the same night.
With businesses like include Lillian Grace Boutique, Brown’s Shoe Fit, Deliah’s Children’s Boutique, Holistic Gypsiez, The Vintage Raven, and many others participating in the event, guests are sure to enjoy tasty brews, and “ghoulishly good” snacks at more than a dozen locations. Additionally, many of the businesses will offer special deals for this event, including Master’s Parlor. They will offer walk-in flash tattoos starting at $60 and custom tattoos all day and night
Those purchasing tickets and attending the event will receive a custom event cup that says, “Drink Up Witches.” Each participant also will receive a witch’s hat, which they will decorate at local businesses along the way.
While the fun evening will begin at the Union Block and officially wrap at 8 p.m., The Westside Tap will host an after-party at their establishment to keep the fun going.
Oetken is excited to launch this new event and looks forward to it growing even more in years to come.
Spooky season celebrations won’t end Friday, though. Main Street Mt. Pleasant will host their annual Witch Way to Main trick-or-treat event Thursday, Oct. 24 for younger community members to enjoy.
From 4:30-6:30 p.m. everyone is welcome to put on their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat at downtown shops and enjoy games and a costume contest in Central Park. For those keeping an out, they might even spot Beetlejuice as they gather candy and enjoy the fun activity.
