Car crashes into Fed Ex truck

Mt. Pleasant Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday, July 10, involving a Fed Ex delivery truck.
According to police reports, the accident occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, when a vehicle collided with the back of a Fed Ex truck on the 400 block of East Washington St.
The Fed Ex vehicle had stopped in the eastbound lane of traffic with its four-way flashers on to make a delivery on the south side of Washington Street. A 2000 Mercury Sable operated by Tanis Whaley, of Mt. Pleasant, was traveling eastbound when it collided with the truck.
Whaley was transported by ambulance to the Henry County Health Center. The total damage was estimated at $10,000, and the accident is still under investigation.
The MPPD was assisted by several citizens, Mt. Pleasant Fire, an ambulance from Henry County Health Center and Newberry's Towing.
