MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce prepares for their second year of the annual Food Truck Festival with a few changes.
Last year, the chamber expected a few hundred event to attend their Light Up the Lake Food Truck Festival but were pleasantly surprised when over 1,000 people attended the event.
This year, the chamber plans for the event to be even bigger and better as they shift locations from East Lake Park to the Iowa Wesleyan University Campus Lawn April 29 from 4-8 p.m.
In anticipation, the chamber will continue to announce food trucks for the event via their Facebook page.
According to the chamber, The Food Boss will return to the festival with her variety of tasty food choices.
“These ‘Big Guys’ are rolling in from Fort Madison, Iowa and they're just as excited as we are for the Food Truck Festival,” the chamber announced Big Guys BBQ.
Mark Bernhardt and Scott Huffman, from Big Guys BBQ, offer classically delicious BBQ in the form of chicken, pork loin, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, but won’t be the only truck offering BBQ.
Sweet ‘n Saucy BBQ & Catering also will serve up their best BBQ choices for festival attendees.
“Little Tribe Woodfire on Wheels will bring the pizza,” the chamber announced.
This truck literally brings a woodfire oven on wheels to events to serve up fresh made pizza.
A staple food truck in the Henry County and surrounding areas, DeLovely's Delicious Mini Doughnuts, will offer their well-known a variety of mini doughnuts with toppings like cinnamon-sugar, ice cream, candies, and cookies.
The Lunch Box, which serves a variety of delicious sandwiches and sides along with milkshakes, also will join the lineup.
Many other food trucks will fill out this highly anticipated event, and the Chamber will continue to announce more of the lineup on their Facebook page as the event gets closer.
