Child endangerment added to attempted murder charge
Sept. 17 Mt. Pleasant Police arrest Tanner Box for attempted murder

MT. PLEASANT — Early Saturday morning Mt. Pleasant Police and Henry County Sheriff officers responded to a scene to find a male gunshot victim.
At the scene, officers arrested and charged Tanner Box with attempted murder and child endangerment.
According to police documents, 21-year-old Box engaged in a verbal altercation with Ronald Nicklouse Ferch in a kitchen.
The altercation escalated and became physical.
Box then showed a pistol and shot Ferch one time in the middle torso.
Officers observed Box admit multiple times that he had “screwed up” and admitted to shooting Ferch while at the scene.
Additionally, Box is charged with child endangerment of six children living in the residence.
All six children were put at substantial risk as they were in the residence at the time of the shooting.
Box is currently held at Henry County Jail with a $25,000 cash only bond.
