MT. PLEASANT — Saturday, March 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Mt. Pleasant Public Library will host the grand opening of their new Children’s Discovery Center.
At the beginning of February, the library hosted a soft opening for the space, but now they would like to invite the community to the official grand opening complete with their mascot 2 Sense and a number guessing game.
“There will be a visit from our mascot ‘2 Sense,’ a scavenger hunt to guess how many magnifying glasses are in the museum, a free mini mascot giveaway to the first 48 children who would like one, and other surprises,” Children Services Librarian Amy Willson said.
Library staff encourage patrons to bring coins for the mini vortex wishing wells located in the center.
The collected coins will benefit new additions to the center in the future.
The Discovery Center includes brightly colored walls, spaces curated for imaginative play, musical areas, building materials, and many more activities.
According to a flier for the event, “The Discovery Center is a space for our rea children ages zero through fifth grade to explore, engage and experiment with a variety of experiences.”
There is no charge to use the Discovery Center and the library invites the public to enjoy this free event, Saturday, March 18.
To enter the Discovery Center, patrons will use the door located between the Wisdom Quest building and the library.
Just follow colorful path to the Children Discovery Center’s entrance.
The Library’s policy states that children eight and under must be accompanied by an adult or responsible person over the age of 14.
