For the first time, Chris Cagle will take to the Midwest Old Threshers stage on Friday, Aug. 30.
Cagle made his debut on Billboard Hot Country Songs charts with “My Love Goes On and On,” a single form his debut album Play It Loud.
Country roots run deep for Cagle as he moved from Louisiana to the outskirts of Houston when he was only four years old. His musical roots run nearly as deep. He began guitar lessons at six but didn’t stick with it. He then took piano lessons in high school and picked the guitar up once again his senior year.
While he initially went to college after high school, it wasn’t long before Cagle dropped out to pursue his passion for music. Cagle put in the work and made it happen. After years of trying to make it in Nashville, Cagle was signed by the president of Virgin Records Nashville.
Cagle hit the ground running. His first single "My Love Goes on and On," reached the country charts in July 2000, eventually peaking in the Top 20. His first album, Play It Loud, followed in October. It reached the country charts, and its track "Laredo" made the country Top 40.
His musical career then included a switch to Capitol Records, and additional music with his album Anywhere But Here and My Life’s Been a Country Song.
After a break to get married and start a family, Cagle returned to the music scene with Big Picture Music Group and the single “Got My Country On.”
