MT. PLEASANT — Following a long weekend of Thanksgiving feasting and holiday shopping, the Mt. Pleasant Chamber Alliance and Main Street look forward to Holiday on Main and Christmas in Pleasantville.
At 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, Jim and Marlene DePriest will kick off the holiday season as the Grand Marshals for the Lighted Parade.
Following the parade, Main Street welcomes the community to Pleasantville.
Downtown Mt. Pleasant will be transformed into a holiday wonderland with carolers, chestnuts roasting over an open fire, cookie decorating, Santa, and stories with Mrs. Claus and many more holiday traditions.
Junior Miss Henry County Kara Hoover will excitedly help the Mt. Pleasant Police Department accept Toy Donations next to Santa’s House.
Local businesses will open their doors with holiday cheer and live window displays.
Families will snuggle up for carriage rides, and holiday memories will abound.
Even the Grinch will make an appearance on the square.
With so many fun activities and events, the Mt. Pleasant Public Library is offering an additional opportunity to meet with the Grinch Saturday, Dec. 3.
From 9-10 a.m. visitors to the library will enjoy photos with the Grinch, self-guided crafts, and games.
