Christmas tree pickup available

MT. PLEASANT — Back-to-back snowstorms gave Mt. Pleasant more than just a few snow days off school. They also delayed Christmas tree pickups originally scheduled for Jan. 8-11.
With all the snowfall, ice, and maintenance that comes with it, Mt. Pleasant Public Works had plenty of work on their hands and picking up Christmas Tress was delayed.
Now that Public Works crews are finally caught up, residents that still have trees they’d like to part with can call city hall at (319) 385-1470 for pickup.
The city asks that trees are placed next to the curb and be free of plastic coverings, decorations or tinsel for pickup. This is a free service provided to residents.
