Cold soda acts as smoking gun
Woman arrested for trespassing faces charges of burglary

MT. PLEASANT — Sept. 18, at approximately 1 p.m. Henry County Sheriff’s Department and New London Police Officers responded to a call of a woman the railroad tracks near Oakberry Ave.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) called the report into the Sheriff’s office that they had stopped their train due to a woman with “barely any clothing” was on the tracks and appeared in distress.
Sky Boecker, 37-year-old Salem resident, was arrest near the BNSF Railroad tracks and Nebraska Ave.
According to reports, Boecker stated she was attempted to walk from New London to Mt. Pleasant for a ride.
She is currently charged with trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, and railroad vandalism.
According to reports filed with Iowa Courts, once arrested for trespassing, Boecker’s purse was searched before being transported.
Through the search, an officer found two cool-to-the-touch cans of soda, Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper.
When asked where she got the soda, documents state Boecker claimed to have gotten them from her sister in Winfield.
This explanation did not track considering the temperature and timeline presented.
In addition to the soda, an officer found a license plate with two screws belonging to the motorcycle of Bruce Gholson.
Boecker claimed she had found the license plate while walking.
The officer spoke to Gholson and proceeded to investigate the shop in which the bike is normally stored.
Within the shop, the officer found the motorcycle’s license plate missing and cold cans of Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper in the fridge.
Upon further conversation, Boecker admitted to being in the Gholson’s shed.
In addition to previous charges, Boecker is also being charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree with this evidence.
