MT. PLEASANT — School is out, the pool is open, and summer has officially begun. That means the Mt. Pleasant Community Band will soon begin to fill Central Park on Thursday evenings with music.
“We are back and ready for our summer Mt. Pleasant Community Band Season,” Director Adam Creager announced in the community band Facebook group. “We have our first concert coming up on Thursday, June 15 at 7 p.m. up on the Mt Pleasant City Square!”
As with previous years, Creager says the evenings will offer Karl King Marches, show tunes, rock tunes, multicultural folk tunes, bad dad jokes and puns.
Additionally, the P.E.O pies are expected to return with the music, this summer.
The community band welcomes musicians of all ages to participate in creating music for the concerts. Those interested in performing may choose to participate in any of the concerts throughout the summer.
“We welcome any new folks who have a love for playing music and providing a service to our community through the gifts of music,” Creager said.
The band will practice for the first concert June 13 at 7 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Middle School Music room.
