Fairfield Community Song Circles, twice per month. Presented by Fairfield Community Song Circles at Harmony Building (Upstairs, East Entrance) in Fairfield. Come learn, share and sing heartfelt songs for every occasion and connect with your community in this nourishing way, bringing our voices together in healing, joy and celebration. All voices are welcome, (yes, including yours)! Meets every second Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. and every fourth Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. at 414 N 3rd St, in Fairfield (next to Boom Fitness).

FYPA is planning this special event for our signed up kids as well as any who wish to sign up, where we will publicly announce the two shows selected for our 2025 Inaugural Season and screen the movie of the Summer Musical.
Legislative Forum, Jan. 18 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. Presented by Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce. The topics for January will be taxes and education. Senator Adrian Dickey and Representatives Helena Hayes and Jeff Shipley will give residents an update on what is currently happening at the capital. Free event.

New Years Day Hike: Dec. 30-Jan. 13 Henry County Conservation invites people of all ages to enjoy a self-guided hike beginning at Turtle Town outside the Oakland Mills Nature Center where hikers will receive instructions on what to do and where to go next. As participants venture through, they will find fun facts, trivia, and more. Don’t forget to dress for the weather.
Mt. Pleasant Veterans Breakfast: Every third Friday at the Mt. Pleasant Veterans Hall from 8:30-9:30 a.m. All are welcome for this free-will donation breakfast.
Parent and Play: The Family Connection of Henry and Washington Counties will host their Parent and Play groups on the second and fourth Wednesday mornings of each month from 9-10 a.m.
Public Officials Reception: Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce members are invited to an evening of networking with local elected and non-elected city, county, and state leadership on Jan. 9 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at The Grange Public House & Brewery. Complimentary appetizers will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
Corn Dog Giveaway: Saturday, Jan. 11 from 8-11 a.m. Sigma will give away two boxes of corn dogs to the first 500 cars that drive through Sigma’s parking lot at 2225 East Commerce Drive in Mt. Pleasant.
Community Theater Auditions:“All Aboard!” The Mount Pleasant Community Theater will hold auditions for Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express adapted by Ken Ludwig. A murder mystery with spine-tingling suspense and a bit of humor to round out this dramatic comedy.
This two-act play has parts for five men and five women. Auditions will be held on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 2-4 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at The Belle Center located at 107 W. Broad St.
No preparation or experience needed. Brush up on your accents and come show us what you’ve got! Performance dates are April 25-27 at the Heatilator Center. Rehearsals will be twice a week until April.

Teachers Night Out: Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 3:30 p.m. the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce will host Teacher’s Night Out at Airport Road Vineyard. The evening will include fun, networking and giveaway to show a heartfelt thank you to all educators. This event is open to all educators in the area.
Preserve Oakland Mills: A group interested in preserving the walking bridge at Oakland Mills will meet Thursday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Belle Center. The meeting will include updates on the progress made toward opening the walking the bridge and updates on other projects in the Oakland Mills area. All are welcome to attend.
Flapjacks & Flannels: Main Street Mt. Pleasant will host Flapjacks & Flannels Saturday, Jan. 18 from 9-11 a.m. at downtown retailers. Attendees will enjoy warm silver dollar flapjacks along with coffee, mimosas, and other breakfast goodies along with in-store sales and games. Entry is $10.
Hollydaze: Rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. SEISO will host a holiday concert at the Chapel Auditorium.
Bowling Night: Henry County Farm Bureau will host a bowling night for members at the Iris Bowling Center in Mt. Pleasant on Friday, Feb. 7 from 6-8 p.m. Registration is required by Jan. 31. Reservations are limited to six group/family members per lane and each reservation will receive a $20 voucher for food and drink from the bar.
