MT. PLEASANT — While there will not be a community meal in Mt. Pleasant this Thanksgiving, New London and Winfield will still offer options for those looking for a place to celebrate the holiday with good food and good company.
The Community Thanksgiving Dinner organized and hosted by Marcus and Annie Powell will be held on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Clark Elementary in the cafeteria for the 13th year. This meal will include turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, stuffing, rolls, and dessert.
Although reservations are closed for the Thanksgiving Dinner in Winfield, the Winfield Lions Club looks forward to continuing the traditional Thanksgiving meal which Paul Thompson started in 2008. This year, Winfield Lions Club President Corriene Culver says they expect more than 80 guests.
