MT. PLEASANT — Saturday, March 18, two fundraisers offer opportunities to support schools in the Mt. Pleasant area.
The Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club will hold their annual Free Will Donation Pancake Breakfast at the Frist United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from 6:30-11 a.m.
“Libraries in the schools are really down,” a Kiwanis representative said at Wednesday’s Alive After Five event. “During COVID books got checked out and never came back.”
Because of this, the proceeds for the pancake breakfast will benefit the libraries in Mt. Pleasant elementary schools.
Additionally, Saturday, the community may support Mt. Pleasant Christian School through their annual auction from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Mt. Pleasant Christian School is a nonprofit organization that has served the Henry County area for the last 29 years.
According to Mt. Pleasant Christian School teacher, Liz Gevock, this is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the school.
Food, including lunch grilled up by Henry County Cattlemen, will be available for purchase alongside specialty desserts.
The auction boats of over 100 gift certificates. Some of these include $100 gift cards to LillianGrace Boutique, Carpetland USA, and Mt. Pleasant Chiropractic.
There will also be limited opportunities to enter a drawing for a vacation for four to the Wisconsin Dells.
If interested, supporters may contact the school for absentee bids if they’re unable to attend.
