Compost site opens this week

MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant City Compost Site located Southwest of Saunders Park at the end of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive will open Wednesday, March 13.
The compost site will remain open Wednesdays from 1-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through the summer, weather permitting. Trash stickers are no longer required for drop off compost.
According to the city website, residents can dispose of grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, apples, walnuts, tree trimmings, branches, bushes, and other forms of organic waste at the yard waste compost site at 700 West Yocum Lane.
