Cross-Country optional runs begin Monday

MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant Community High School Cross-Country team will begin optional summer runs again starting Monday, June 17.

“These runs are a great way to run with others and get in shape now for the season,” Coach Lyle Murray said. “There are paces and plans for any runner depending on level of experience. The runs are available for any runners in 7-12 grade.”

Murray informs parents that coaches may not be present at every run.

“These are often led by upperclassmen who have been hosting these runs previously and doing a great job with all levels of runners,” Murray said.

Runners can join these optional practices at Old Threshers Theater Museum Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday runs will start at Saunders Park near the swimming pool at 7 p.m.

These runs will continue until roughly the middle of August when cross-country camp begins.
