Deer collision reported in Henry County

MT. PLEASANT — Christmas Eve was not merry for all in Henry County as the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deer versus vehicle collision.

The morning of Dec. 24, Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle collision with a deer in the 2800 grid of Lexington Avenue at approximately 8:40 a.m.

“An investigation into the collision determined a 2015 For Escape, drive by Cindy Nesbitt, 71, of Mt. Pleasant, was traveling northbound on Lexington Avenue when a deer ran into the middle of the roadway, striking the front driver’s side of the vehicle,” the release states.

Nesbitt was not reported injured, however, her vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 worth of damages and was removed from the scene.
