Dover Museum to welcome Curt Swarm

Dover Historical Society’s first Dover Sunday program is scheduled for June 25 at 1:30 pm.

Curt Swarm, the guest speaker, describes himself as Author, Metal Sculptor, Columnist, and Occasional Photographer. His website www.empty-nest-words-photos-and-frames.com presents a brief window into his engaging work. Local readers also look forward to his occasional articles in Senior Lifestyle.

The site also introduces his book “Task Force IED”. The story of the mythical battalion is based on the Iowa National Guard’s fight against Improvised Explosive Devices in Iraq. As an English major writing is a natural way to express himself.

His Empty Nest column presents life after children in a realistic and thoughtful way. His metal sculpture career began serendipitously with two pieces of junk that appealed to his artistic eye – if, of course, they were welded together.
