MT. PLEASANT — The Easter Bunny’s sister made her way back to Mt. Pleasant over the weekend as families filled Central Park for Main Street’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.
After enjoying a warm breakfast of pancakes and sausage at the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, many families made their way to Central Park where children up through fifth grade quickly filled their baskets with goodies.
“The bigger they, get the faster they go,” President of the Optimist Club and Easter Egg Hunt Master of Ceremonies Paul Katsion joked as he released groups to their designated egg hunting zones one at a time.
After filling their bags and baskets, families were invited to purchase Easter Egg shaped lard sugar cookies. Money from cookie sales went back to the Optimist Club, which acted as a sponsor for the event along with Hy-Vee, Walmart, and Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Department.
