Early Voting is open

MT. PLEASANT — Early voting is open for the Nov. 8 General Election.

Absentee ballots are available in person or through the mail.

To vote early in person, go to Henry County Auditor’s Office in the courthouse, ask for an absentee ballot, mark it, and turn it in.

The ballot can also be taken with voters to fill out and submit later.

Request a mailed absentee ballot by going to the Secretary of State’s website.

If the ballot is mailed, it can then be submitted in person or through the mail.

The last day to submit an absentee ballot request to be mailed is Oct. 24.

The last day to vote at the auditor’s office is Nov. 7.

County Precincts

Precinct 1 includes Trenton, Marion, Jefferson, and the western half of Wayne Townships. This is the old Northwest precinct plus the northern half of what used to be Central precinct. For those who want to vote in person on Election Day, the polling place will be Wayland City Hall, 218 W Main St, Wayland.

Precinct 2 includes Canaan, Scott, and eastern half of Wayne Townships — the same as old Northeast Precinct. For those who want to vote in person on Election Day, the polling place will be Winfield City Hall, 115 N Locust St, Winfield.

Precinct 3 includes Tippecanoe and Salem Townships plus the southern half of the old Central Precinct. For those who want to vote in person on Election Day, the polling place will be Emergency Management Building, 900 W Washington St, Mt. Pleasant.

Precinct 8 comprises Jackson and Baltimore Townships. For those who want to vote in person on Election Day, the polling place will be New London Christian Church, 2770 New London Rd, New London. (This precinct must vote in New London because NO buildings in either township are able to hold a polling place.)

Precinct 9 is the New London Township only. For those who want to vote in person on Election Day, the polling place will be New London Community Center, 103 W Washington St, New London.

All Mount Pleasant precincts vote at Veterans Hall, 300 W Monroe St, Mount Pleasant.
