WINFIELD -- Saturday evening, May 3, will be the next WAGG Event. The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a hot dog roast. Our featured speaker and host will be Greta Cummings. The Event will take place at Cornerstone Farm, and along with Greta’s partner, Stephanie White, horses also will be featured guests. To attend the event, set your GPS for 1938 Oasis Avenue, Mt. Union, Iowa.
Cornerstone Farm is home to Cornerstone Fellowship Ministry and Cornerstone Horsemanship. Owned by Aaron and Greta Cummings, who moved to the small acreage in 2002. Greta, a lifelong horseman, began teaching riding lessons in 1995 to local girls. Since then, it has grown into a full-on business, offering riding lessons, horse training, and clinics with a foundation in Biblical principles. In 2010, Stephanie White and Greta Cummings connected during a Bible Study session at their church. They collaborated to establish Cornerstone Fellowship Ministry, a 503(c) 3 nonprofit organization.
The Ministry began from Greta's desire to reach the young girls in her lesson program on a deeper level. It was through a passing comment to Stephanie about wanting to start a girls’ group or women's group that got the Ministry up and going. Stephanie was eager to help young girls in the area, as she was greatly impacted by a family in a church during her high school years, allowing her to ride their horse. This opportunity, in turn, healed Stephanie's heart of pain while growing up. If there was any possibility that one of her horses could help heal a young girl, she was fully committed.
Similarly, Greta was profoundly influenced by the staff at Eagle Lake Camp, where she spent nine years. They demonstrated to her what a true walk with God entailed, and subsequently, the Horse Camp directors invited her to extend her stays during the summers and visit during the offseason. Their impact on her life motivated Greta to seek a genuine relationship with the Lord, and she aspired to provide that same experience to those around her.
Greta and Stephanie believe that fellowship means: to be a friend. To be a friend of God, one must know Him, obey His commands, and live by His Truth. The two women also believe they can reach people through horses for Christ.
Anyone in the Winfield and surrounding area are welcome to join our May WAGG Event at the Cornerstone Farm to hear, see and experience the impact Greta and Stephanie are making for the Lord. Feel free to bring a friend and a lawn chair, or two. Then, join the fellowship and hot dog roast following their presentation.
