MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant FFA will once again show their appreciation for all the hard work by local farmers to put food on the table for not only their own families, but everyone else’s as well.
Mt. Pleasant FFA members look forward to not only saying thank you to farmers, but also showcasing the strong community found within Iowa Agriculture as they welcome farmers to enjoy a meal on them.
Members of the Mt. Pleasant FFA program will split up into three groups and offer a meal to farmers from 12-3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 at Chem-Gro in Salem, AgriCenter in Mt. Pleasant, and Becks in Mt. Pleasant. The lunches will include a choice of hamburger or cheeseburger along with a bag of chips, cookie, and a water.
While the teams will be set up at these locations for the afternoon, they also encourage farmers busy in the field to call for delivery. Those in Salem and Houghton area should call (319) 931-6659 or (319) 850-9767. Those in the Mt. Pleasant area should call (319) 217-1407.
With the popularity of this event, farmers are encouraged to call or stop by early to ensure they get one of these meals this Friday.
In addition to the manpower from Mt. Pleasant’s FFA program, this event is made possible through the generosity of the Mabeus Family and Hy-Vee.
