MT. PLEASANT — Summer is in full swing, and it may be getting easier to fall into late nights, late mornings, and cereal for every meal.
Local libraries continue to be a resource to avoid the summer slump.
HJ Nugen Library in New London hosted school aged children this Tuesday for a fun and free guided painting activity with Miss Brittney.
Tuesday, June 28 HJ Nugen Library staff will continue to shake off the summertime cobwebs as they host “All About Worms with Miss Angelia.”
School aged children are invited to experience a variety of activities with live worms.
Mt. Pleasant Public Library continues to keep things moving with events like “Teen Hang Out” and “Family Night” every other Tuesday.
Tuesday, July 5, teens are invited back to hang out at 1:30 p.m. with a family night planned at 6 p.m.
Wednesdays are outdoor adventure days at 10:30 a.m. with Mt. Pleasant Public Library.
June 22, the outdoor adventure is at East Lake View Park where children will roast marshmallows for smores.
Ping Pong Blasters occupy the next outdoor adventure in the same place on June 29.
Craft days, summer reading programs, art exhibits, story times, and more are available at local libraries throughout Henry County, and librarians would love to see even more community members.
