Free family fun offered at Water-Palooza

NEW LONDON -- Families are invited to enjoy Water-Palooza Family Event host by New London Christian Church Aug. 14 from 4-7 p.m.

This annual event is free fun for the whole family with good food, music, and fellowship.

“It is something that we have done a few times on a much smaller scale out at the church, mostly for the younger kiddos,” Planning Committee Member Mindy Hatten said. “This year we decided to expand it to include more games and activities for older kids and adults as well, and for it to be more of a community wide event.”

As the name indicates, attendees will want to wear water-friendly clothes so they can fully enjoy activities like a splash pad, waterslide, water volleyball, and slip-n-slide kick ball.

A battleship game and water balloon toss will provoke additional smiles, laughter, and fun throughout the evening.

Bringing your own water guns and lawn charges is encouraged.

“If it’s well received and attended this year we’d definitely like to make it an annual thing,” Hatten said.

In case of inclement weather the event will take place Aug. 28
