Henry County Habitat for Humanity Operations Manager Lisa Diener has acknowledged the receipt of a $250 donation from the Henry County Democratic Party in memory of, and a tribute to President Jimmy Carter and first lady Rosalyn for their roles in promoting the services of Habitat for Humanity.
Appreciating the gift on behalf of the board of Henry County Habitat for Humanity, Diener thanked Dave Helman for the Democratic Party's kind gesture. She said the donation honors a couple who personally spent 38 years alongside 103,000 volunteers in 14 different countries to repair, renovate and build over 4,331 homes.
According to Diener, Habitat for Humanity will be eternally grateful for the efforts of the Carters to build safe, decent homes for families around the world.
Henry County Habitat for Humanity will be dedicating its 31st home this February and has asked applicants to tender request for their new home whose construction will begin this Spring.
