Helen P. Helterbran

Helen P. Helterbran, 90, of Keosauqua, died on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, with Rev. Mary Kathryn Hart officiating. Visitation with family was from 10 to 11 a.m., on Monday, prior to the service. Burial was at the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Memorials to Hillsboro Baptist Church or Hillsboro Cemetery may be left at the funeral or mailed to the family at 715 Dodge Street, Keosauqua, Iowa 52565.

Helterbran was born on May 11, 1925, in Keokuk, to Earl L. and Bessie Van Lanninghan House. She married Glen E. Helterbran on Nov. 28, 1948, at the Hillsboro Baptist parsonage. He preceded her in death.

She and her husband farmed in the Hillsboro-Stockport area.

She was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Helterbran is survived by her two sons, Eugene (Patsy) Helterbran, of Keosauqua; and Gary (Caroline) Helterbran, of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Samuel (Louise) House, of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Jessie and Bill House; and two sisters, Irene House and Marie Landrith.
