MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Fair Queen contest Coordinator Summer Miller steps down from her position after six years.
During her time as the contest coordinator, the Henry County Fair Queens found Miller’s advice and support essentials for their journeys.
“We will all miss you so much,” current Henry County Fair Queen Chevy Mills wrote in a Facebook post. “Thank you so much for helping me at the Henry County Fair and preparing me for the Iowa State Fair this year, as well as, supporting me throughout my numerous visits throughout the county! Lastly, thank you so much for putting so much time and effort into this amazing program, I am proud to be a part of the Fair Queen Family!!!”
As 2021 Henry County Fair Queen Maddie Anderson relinquished her crown to Mills in 2022, she thanked Miller for all she did, as well.
“I would like to give a special thank you to Summer Miller,” Anderson said. “Thank you for your countless help and advice with everything this year.”
During her last fair queen contest, Miller secured the notable judges such as Miss Iowa Bailey Hodson and Miss Iowa Outstanding Teen Emily Lerch.
Miller will leave the Henry County Fair Queen contest in capable hands as Kelsey Dewitt, formerly Smith, takes over.
As a Mt. Pleasant High school student, Dewitt earned the title of Henry County Fair Queen in 2013 and even when on to become the Iowa State Fair Queen shortly after.
