MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Farm Bureau is encouraging graduating high school seniors to apply for local and state Farm Bureau scholarships ahead of the Jan. 28, 2026, deadline.
Henry County Farm Bureau will award up to $4,000 in local scholarships, and students who apply also will be considered for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s (IFBF) $2,500 renewable scholarship, which can total up to $10,000 over four years. Students need to complete only one online application to qualify for both local and state-level awards.
To apply, students must be graduating seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA, accepted into an accredited college, community college or technical school. The applicant or a parent must hold an active Iowa Farm Bureau membership in the county where the application is submitted. Applicants must also show involvement in school or community activities, demonstrate leadership, and express a commitment to agriculture or rural Iowa.
The IFBF scholarship program requires all materials — including an online application, transcripts and two reference letters — to be submitted by Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026. Applicants must upload one academic reference and one personal reference. Students also must pursue a major or minor related to agriculture or a field that supports rural Iowa.
IFBF will select 27 students statewide, three from each Farm Bureau district, to receive renewable scholarships. County Farm Bureaus will review and select local recipients and forward one application for state-level consideration. All scholarship recipients will be notified by April 24, 2026.
