MT. PLEASANT — The Henry County Leadership program is excited to invite community members to apply for the 2022-2023 class, but class size is limited.
Henry County Leadership is a program designed to identify, cultivate and navigate future community leaders.
“In the past 5 years, we have graduated over 50 business and community leaders who have a desire to improve their leadership skills and to make Henry County a better place to work, live and play,” Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance Executive Vice President Kristi Perry says.
The program boasts of a place-based leadership curriculum focusing on four core skill sets:
Understanding community leadership and your community
Identifying issues and framing ideas
Building social capital
Mobilizing resources for community action
According to the program, personal and professional skills are cultivated and expanded with this program.
“Enhance your personal leadership abilities, expand your network of leaders in the community, find opportunities for future leadership in your career and community, and expand your awareness of challenges and opportunities in Henry County,” the leadership brochure says.
In the leadership program, participants interact with local leaders, learn about Henry County resources, take community organized tours, and learn from leadership panels.
The class runs from Oct. 12 to May 10 with one class a month.
Community leadership, education, health care and social services, economic development, state government, local government, crime and safety, and agriculture and conservation will be covered in the seven sessions of leadership class.
Interested applicants can find more information and applications by visiting the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce.
Applications with employee and employer signatures are due back to Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce no later than noon Friday, Sept. 2.
