The Mt. Pleasant Public Library has been serving the town since 1875. As part of its programming, the public space offers various after-school activities, and discussion groups for adults.
Other resources at the library include computers available for public uses, as well as an e-book and audiobook collection available to library cardholders.
Additionally, the Mt. Pleasant Public Library offers faxing services, a genealogy collection, interlibrary loans, notary services, and proctoring services.

Children’s Discovery Center
Mt. Pleasant Public Library is also home to the Children’s Discovery Center.
While the Center is primarily geared towards younger children, there is something to "discover" for all ages.
The Discovery Center is located in the old AEA space between the library and the Wisdom Quest Education Center. Look for the sign on the side of the building and follow the colorful sidewalk down to the entrance.
Hours for the Discovery Center vary and will be posted to on the library website and Discovery Center’s Facebook page.
Typically, the Discovery Center is open Mondays from noon-2 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m.-noon. Additionally, the center opens many Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon.
HJ Nugen Public Library

Established in the mid-thirties through the generosity of the late H. J. Nugen, The H. J. Nugen Public Library was dedicated in April of 1938 and the current library building was completed January 1972.
The library offers free check out services including books, audio books, puzzles, large print titles, and DVDs. DVDs are free to check out with the exception of titles released within the last three months. With this large variety of materials available for check-out, HJ Nugen remains fine free with the excetion of lost or damaged materials.
Inside the library patrons have plenty to keep them busy at any age including sensor bins, maker spaces and access to a Cricut Explore Air 2. The library provides the machine and mats. patron just need to provide their own cutting materials.
At home Patrons of the library will also have access to an online library check out database called Libby digital material checkout.
Other services the library offers include interlibrary loans, internet access, photocopies, scanning, faxing, computers, and book delivery within city limits for home bound patrons.

Regular Activities:
HJ Nugen Library hoss many events throughout the year. Check the library website and Facebook page for the latest activities at the library. Below are some recurring programs offered by the library staff.
After School Programs: Every Wednesday that New London Community School District is in session the AWE (After school Wednesday Entertainment) Club meets from 2:30-4 p.m. This program entertains young scholars with many activities including but not limited to crafts, games, and STEM.
All school aged children are welcome to attend the program. Once programming ends, all children under 9 years old need to have a way home or be accompanied by a responsible person over the age of 14.
Storytime Programs: Saturday Storytime Adventures are held the first and third Saturday of each month year-round. The program runs from 9:30-10 a.m. and offers a story and related activities. Babies through school aged children are invited to participate with a responsible person over the age of 14.

Winfield Public Library
Winfield Public Library offers a large selection of books, magazines, newspapers, and electronic resources available for check-out.

Programs
Adults are invited to Crafting with Linda the first Thursday of each month from 2-3 p.m.
A book club for adults meets every second Monday of the month from 5-6 p.m.
Winfield Public Library also partners with COMPS to provide programming for WMU students on Mondays when they do not have classes.

Salem Crew Public Library
The Crew Public Library provides an array of services including computer, tablet, and laptop access, copy and fax services for a small charge, and free notary services.
In addition to printed books, Crew Public Library also offers DVDs, CDs, Books on Tape, computer games, and magazines for check out.
The Crew Public Library contains a genealogy area, an Iowa Workforce Access area, and an activity room for public use. The Activity room offers a projector, projector screen, T.V. and DVR for use.
