MT. PLEASANT— According to Mt. Pleasant city council member, active community member, and poll worker Bob Griffith, the polls were steady throughout the day at the Mt. Pleasant Veteran’s Hall.
Griffith was surprised at the voter turnout due to the high number of absentee ballots submitted.
According to Griffith over 2700 absentee ballots were submitted before polls opened, Tuesday.
Henry County saw an almost 50% voter turnout rate resulting in 7,025 votes cast.
