Highland and New London receive mixed speech results
Both teams received Division I and II ratings at state contest

ELDRIDGE — Iowa High School Speech Association southeast teams gathered at North Scott High School in Eldora for state contest.
After receiving Division I ratings at the district contest, New London and Highland speech teams sent students to perform at this next stage of the contest.
When students perform at districts, they receive ratings from one judge for their performance. At state contest, they receive ratings from three judges and the only way to move forward to the All-State festival is to score three division I ratings and two recommendations from judges.
Only 5% of contestant move forward to the All-State Festival.
