The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce an unprecedented $100,000 matching grant challenge — the largest in its history! This incredible opportunity means every dollar donated will be doubled, creating a lasting impact on the orchestra and the communities it serves.
This transformative challenge was issued by Keith Schulz of Burlington, Iowa, last November, and with the Jan. 31 deadline fast approaching, the orchestra has already achieved an impressive 83% of its goal.
“This challenge is a game-changer for the Southeast Iowa Symphony,” said Music Director Robert McConnell of Washington, Iowa. “It ensures we can continue providing affordable concerts and maintaining our commitment to free tickets for children and students, bringing the joy of live orchestral music to rural communities for generations to come.”
In addition to the $100,000 challenge, the Symphony is honored to receive a $5,000 matching grant from Russ Lenth of Iowa City to name the Principal Horn Chair in memory of Steve Rod, a cherished longtime Symphony member and retired music educator from Mt. Pleasant.
“These gifts are truly extraordinary,” McConnell added. “With all donations being doubled through Jan. 31, the impact on our ability to share music with our region will be monumental. We’re deeply grateful to Keith Schulz, Russ Lenth, and every donor for their generosity.”
The clock is ticking, and now is the time to act! Whether you’re a lifelong supporter or new to the Southeast Iowa Symphony community, your contribution will have twice the power to make a difference.
Donations can be made online at seiso.us, by mailing to P.O. Box 271, Mt. Pleasant, IA 52641, or by emailing the Symphony at seiso@seiso.us.
