NEW LONDON — Students at New London Schools will pull out all the stops this week for Homecoming.
Friday, Sept. 16, the New London Tigers will host the English Valleys Bears in their homecoming football game, but festivities will mark the whole week leading up to the game.
Dress-up days are a long-standing tradition for homecoming week.
Monday, students are invited to dress to the theme of USA.
Tuesday, middle and high school students will stretch their creative muscles as they dress for the theme of country vs. country club.
The Clark Elementary students will take it easy with a pajama day.
Wednesday, middle and high school students will don their leisure wear as they dress as Adam Sandler and pull out their most creative solutions for Anything but a Backpack day.
Clark students will stand out in a different way. Their school will be bright with school pride for Neon Day.
That same evening, the community is invited to BOOM Night.
Events kick off with a parade at 6:30 p.m. followed by Cheer Camp at 7:30 p.m., introduction of the Homecoming Court candidates at 7:45 p.m., and wraps up with Boys Volleyball and Girls’ Powder Puff at the football field.
Board shorts, sun glasses, towels, and beach balls will appear throughout all of the school for Beach Day, Thursday.
Of course, Friday, game day, Tiger Spirit will reign supreme as students dress in school colors before attending the big game.
The homecoming king and queen will be crowned prior to the game at 6:45 p.m.
After, hopefully a victorious, Friday night of football, high school students will enjoy a homecoming dancing from 8-11 p.m.
