Mt. Pleasant and surrounding area plan to celebrate the holiday with community events

MT. PLEASANT — Families in the Henry County area will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate Easter with a variety of community egg hunts happening Saturday, April 19. From pancake breakfasts to bounce houses and thousands of candy-filled eggs, these events offer fun for children of all ages.
Here’s a look at the local Easter egg hunts planned throughout the day:
Sunrise Terrace Care Center will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. This event is for children from birth through 5th grade and will take place at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
The Mt. Pleasant Fire Department will host its annual Pancake Breakfast from 6:00 to 10 a.m. at the fire station. Breakfast includes fresh pancakes, whole hog sausage, coffee, milk, and orange juice. Cost is a freewill donation. The Fire Department also will hand out 200 Easter bags for children participating in the Central Park Easter Egg Hunt.
Main Street Mt. Pleasant will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Central Park beginning at 10 a.m. This family-friendly event is open to children from birth through 5th grade. It is sponsored by Mt. Pleasant Park & Rec and the Optimist Club of Henry County.
The Mt. Union Booster Club and Imagine Recreating Mt. Union Park Committee will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at Eagle’s Landing Park in Mt. Union. The hunt is open to children ages 1 through 10.
Trenton Park will welcome Easter egg hunters at 10 a.m. for a morning of fun, featuring candy, a bounce house, prizes, and food provided by Wesley Chapel.
A Mt. Pleasant Noon Rotary member will host the annual Lawler Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at 2600 Iowa Avenue in Mt. Pleasant. This event will feature 7,500 eggs and 2,500 prizes for children.
