Illinois woman charged with OWI following accident in Geode State Park

NEW LONDON — Linda Schrock, 70 of Stronghurst, Illinois was charged with Operating While Intoxicated and cited for Failure to Maintain Control on Sunday, July 7.

At approximately 5:33 a.m. Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a notification of a single-vehicle accident in Geode State Park in the 3300-grid of Racine Avenue. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation into the accident determined that Schrock drove a passenger car into Geode State Park then failed to navigate a turn causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and enter a ditch where it then struck several bushes and small trees before coming to a rest.

HCSO reports signs of intoxication were observed from Schrock and Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered.
