MT. PLEASANT — The Iowa Wesleyan Tigers wrapped up a victorious homecoming weekend Sunday morning following a win against the Mayville State Comets.
While their football victory came in, in the last moments of the game, their celebratory energy ran throughout the whole weekend.
IW hosted a parade, entertainment, games, and many homecoming traditions which attracted alumni, student families, and the whole Mt. Pleasant Community.
Valerie and Stan Unkrich lead the parade at the Grand Marshals, Saturday.
Valerie Unkrich served as a professor of Physical Education, Exercise Science, and Wellness for 27 years, and she and her husband have continued to support the IW community since her retirement in May 2020.
Homecoming Queen Karoline Stratton and King Moses Eason II were crowned at Boom Night Friday, and rode in the parade the following morning.
Stratton is an IW senior softball player from Dubuque and Moses Eason II is a senior Tiger football player from Baxley, Georgia.
The community schools’ marching bands marched in the parade alongside the University’s honored guests, athletes, homecoming royalty, and band.
