Keokuk woman arrested outside Salem

SALEM — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office found drugs and paraphernalia on a Keokuk woman during a traffic stop outside Salem.
Driver Mariah Maldonado, 27 of Keokuk, was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 17 after a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy performed a traffic stop on her vehicle in the 3100-grid of Highway 218, outside Salem at approximately 8:35 p.m.
During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were located. Maldonado was arrested for possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense: a Class D felony, possession of drug paraphernalia: a simple misdemeanor, driving under suspension: a simple misdemeanor, and speed: a scheduled violation.
