Local agencies assist in Burlington drug investigation
Eight individuals sentenced for methamphetamine operation

BURLINGTON—Henry County Sheriff’s Department assisted in a federal investigation leading to the conviction of eight individuals from Burlington.
According to Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee, the Sheriff’s Department was “integral all the way through the investigation.”
The investigation covered the conspiracy to distribute drugs beginning Dec. 1, 2019 through Nov. 1, 2021.
Henry County worked with other county, state, and federal level detectives and agencies to execute search warrants, arrests, research, and more while investigating an ice methamphetamine operation Southeast Iowa.
While none of those convicted reside in Henry County, “They would come and go, and were conducting their illegal drug business in Henry County,” McNamee said.
According to the United States Department of Justice, the following are the individuals involved and their sentences.
Kendric Centrall Childs, age 35, sentenced to 25 years prison and 10 year supervised release
Rudolph Sinclair Allen, age 37, sentenced to 20 years prison and 5 year supervised release
Clyde Macks Stewart, Jr, age 51, sentenced to 17 years prison and 5 year supervised release
Demetrius Antre Goudy, age 42, sentenced to 18 years prison and 5 year supervised release
Marcus Allen Johnson, age 46, sentenced to 15 years prison and 5 year supervised release
Gregory Jermain Johnson, age 36, sentenced to 14 years prison and 5 year supervised release
Brian Keith Davis, age 42, sentenced to 10 1/2 years prison and 5 year supervised release
Julie Jeanne Mason, age 54, sentenced to 10 years prison and 3 year supervised release
According to the DOJ press release, Gregory Johnson, Allen, and Marcus Johnson were the middlemen in the drug operation.
They sold quantities of Methamphetamine or provided it to lower level dealers like Goudy, Stewart, and Davis for distribution.
Mason acted as a drug courier.
Through a traffic in Littlefield, Arizona, Mason and her husband, Maurius Montez Mason, were found transporting approximately 362 pounds of methamphetamine to Burlington.
At the time of the traffic stop, this was Arizona Department of Public Safety’s largest single seizure of methamphetamine.

Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, Burlington Police Department, West Burlington Police Department, Des Moines County Sheriff office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Drug Enforcement Administration, Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson County Drug Task force, Wash County Sheriff Office, Lee County Drug Task Force, Muscatine County Drug Task Force, Iowa State Patrol, and Arizona Department of Public Safety.
