Lofgren recognized by Iowa Finance Authority

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Iowa Finance Authority recognized District 48 Iowa State Sen. Mark Lofgren as an outstanding leader through their annual HousingIowa Awards earlier this month.

Lofgren, who represents parts of Henry County, received the Friend of Housing Award for the second time in his career during the 2023 HousingIowa Conference held in Cedar Rapids. He last received this award in 2020.

According to the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA), the awards like the Friend of Housing Award presented at the conference, “recognize outstanding programs, projects, and professionals for leadership and innovation in advancing housing opportunities for Iowans.”

IFA Director Debi Durham spoke highly of Lofgren’s work in this field.

“Sen. Lofgren has dedicated his professional career to real estate and knows firsthand the benefits of homeownership, including generational wealth creation and the positive economic impact of housing for all in our communities,” Durham said. “In the Iowa Legislature, Sen. Lofgren has tirelessly advocated for legislation and statewide innovative solutions to ensure that all Iowans have access to a home that they can afford. He serves as a thought leader, trusted resource and advocate to IDEA and IFA and countless other partners who rely on his voice for how important and timely housing issues are at the State House.”
