MORNING SUN — The Morning Sun Community Center will fill with art from dozens of Southeast Iowa artists for a juried art show kicking off Thursday, Sept. 28 and will run through Sunday Oct. 1.
For the sixth year, Louisa County Fine Art Show will feature two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and photographic works of art for the public to view free of charge from 2:30-7 p.m. Thursday, 12-7 p.m. Friday, 12-5 p.m. Saturday, and 12-4 p.m. Sunday.
A reception for the artists will cap off the event on Sunday from 6-7:30 p.m.

Previous years judges have named winners for overall two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and photography along with Best of Show, Pat L. Cocklin Young Artist, Best of Louisa, and People’s Choice.
Among last year’s winners were artists such as Kay Flanders, Brandon Carroll, Hayley Buettell, Hans Eric Olson, James Henry, Dani Henke, and Diane Thayer.
While viewing the show, guests can also enjoy the Lora Rock Gallery by Juanita Walker of Morning Sun.
This seascape is located in the Morning Sun Community Center in honor of the well-known and beloved Morning Sun artist Lora Rock from the late 1800s.
