Despite a fiercely windy evening, some shoppers still came out to the That Sucks Day celebration in downtown Mt. Pleasant.
Businesses around the square remained open longer than normal to offer various shots to be sucked down and suckers to be drawn for discounts.
Etc. owner and Main Street committee member Joni Manske was the person who suggested That Sucks Day as an event to Main Street after a simple search for national days online.
Etc. offered cherry fireball jello shots along with their sucker discounts.
The Central Park Coffee shop opened their doors late to offer shots of cold brew coffee where Main Street Director Lisa Oetken had a front-row seat to the event.
Meraki Day Spa had a busy day booked with appointments, but made sure to offer vodka soaked gummy bears for That Sucks Day.
“Tell us what you think sucks about your hair, and we’ll fix it,” sylist Chaz Gogel said.
Quilter’s Paradise embraced Easter in their offers and allowed customers to draw an Easter egg with a surprise discount as they checked out with their purchases.
Sa3m Sao Market went above and beyond offering egg roll samples with their jello shots Thursday.
While the ladies at Sa3m Sao Market thought the turn out for That Sucks Day was rather small they did mention how their participation with the wine and beer walks were huge successes.
Follow the downtown businesses on their Facebook pages so you don’t miss their next set of deals.
Main Street Mt. Pleasant invites the community out to their next two events which are a Cinco de Mayo party May 5 and Mom’s Brunch May 7.
