Main Street Washington announces new Executive Director Samantha Meyer

WASHINGTON — Main Street Washington names Samantha Meyer as Executive Director of the organization.

The addition of Meyer will be invaluable to the Main Street organization as she works to advance their mission.

Meyers will continue Main Street’s work of strong partnerships, historic preservation, and coordinated events through empowering and educating businesses, volunteers, and the community to create a culturally diverse and economically vibrant downtown district.

Meyer brings several years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor and volunteer recruitment, and event planning — all of which are integral to the success of Main Street Washington and its Downtown District.

Most recently, she worked in Marketing and Business Relations for Kalona Cooperative Technology Company (KCTC), and previously served as Development Coordinator for the Washington County Hospital Foundation.

“Samantha has an infectious passion for all things Washington and our ‘Super Square’ — her affectionate name for the Downtown District she will serve as Executive Director,” said Board President of Main Street Washington Maddie Widmer.

“Her ability to dream up and execute successful events will serve Main Street Washington well in our efforts to continue the revitalization of our Downtown,” Widmer said.

The Board would like to formally thank those who served in any capacity in the hiring process and look forward to Meyer beginning in mid-November with the S.N.O.W. events throughout the holiday season.
