Man injured in fireworks accident Saturday

A man suffered a severe hand injury after an accident with fireworks on Saturday, June 29.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department assisted the Henry County Health Center ambulance with the call to service to 302 N. Popular Street in Mt. Pleasant around 2:20 p.m. Saturday.
The injured man was taken to the Henry County Health Center.
Chief Lyle Murray, with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, wants to remind residents to use their best judgment when setting off fireworks.
'Do it in as safe a manner as possible, make sure there are no children around and use common sense,” Murray said.
