MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss gave updates on Marsh and Lexington avenues’ road closures at the Henry County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday morning.
According to Hotchkiss’s report, Marsh Avenue is now open after a bridge repair project closed the road at the beginning of the month.
While Marsh Avenue is now open, motorists should exercise caution as repair work to wing walls continues.
Lexington Avenue, which also closed at the beginning of November, remains closed, but progress continues on the box culvert extension project.
According to Hotchkiss, crews completed the concrete work on Lexington Avenue last Thursday and will hopefully begin backfilling this Wednesday, Nov. 15.
As they continue the work on Lexington Avenue, which is anticipated to take a total of three weeks, county maintenance hauls fill material to the site for finish work.
Additionally, Hotchkiss reported crews complete concrete patching between J20 and HWY 218.
They also hauled fill material for shoulder widening for J20.
“Maintenance forces completed dirt work on J20 culvert extension last week,” Hotchkiss said.
Other work by the county engineer’s office this last week included blading roads, repairing and replacing signs, and spot rocking in various locations throughout Henry County.
